Inspirational Words from Barack Obama

“So what has been accomplished here in America is nothing short of remarkable. It’s often been said that America is a country for the future. Well, that future has now arrived. And despite the uncertainties over the last two years, we have stepped onto the world stage as a major financial and economic power.

“We did not arrive at this point by simply chance or good fortune. Our success came because of hard work and the perseverance of the American people, the entrepreneurial spirit of many in this room, and the vision of leaders…”[i]

These were the exciting words of President Barack Obama – a true patriot – a man who believes in American Exceptionalism.

DON’T MISS THIS:

Did he really say all of these nice things about his Country?  Are you kidding?????  Here’s what he really said:

“So what has been accomplished here in Brazil is nothing short of remarkable. It’s often been said that Brazil is a country for the future. Well, that future has now arrived. And despite the uncertainties over the last two years, you have stepped onto the world stage as a major financial and economic power.

“You did not arrive at this point by simply chance or good fortune. Your success came because of hard work and the perseverance of the Brazilian people, the entrepreneurial spirit of many in this room, and the vision of leaders…”[i]

But, just to show he’s thinking about us, here’s four quick statements Obama did make about America and Americans.

“…we’ve lost our ambition, our imagination, ”[ii]

“…the “manic and self absorbed” “mood of the country,” [iii]

“…we went off course…”[iv]

“…great country that had gotten a little soft…”[v]

Reason 26 – Obama and Sterilization Capsules

Obama and Sterilization Capsules

Another Obama pick is Dr. John Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.  He is indeed, an interesting addition to the Obama Team and a person who would probably like to weigh in on the current contraceptive issue.  In 1977, he co-authored a book called Ecoscience, providing several population control options, including a system in which a long term sterilization capsule could be implanted under the skin of young girls when they reach puberty – a capsule that “…might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.” [i]

The selection of Holdren as Director of Science and Technology Policy says a great deal about Obama – and provides a serious warning for the rest of America.

Reason 24/25 – Obama Denies Parents’ Right to Know of Abortions/Abortion and Slavery

 Reason #24

Obama Denies Parents’ Right to Know of Abortions

Senator Obama voted against the 2006 Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act.  His was a vote to allow “…taking minors across State lines in circumvention of laws requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions.”  In other words, Obama believes that if you live in a state that requires parental consent for abortion, it’s o.k. for your 14 year old daughter to cross state lines, or to be taken across state lines by someone else, in order to have an abortion in a state with no such requirements.[i]

Reason #25

Abortion and Slavery

After more than a year of controversy and delays, Dawn Johnsen, President Obama’s early pick as the head of the Dept. of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel, withdrew from consideration in April, 2010.[ii]

Johnsen’s nomination was apparently negatively affected by “her positions on torture and the investigation of previous administration actions.”[iii]  But, we can’t say that President Obama didn’t try.  And why did her nomination stay on the table for more than a year?  Could it have had anything to do with her position on abortion?

As the head of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) in 1989, Johnsen filed a brief with the Supreme Court, in which she asserted that “Any restriction that makes abortion less accessible is, in her view, tantamount to ‘involuntary servitude’ because it ‘requires a woman to provide continuous physical service to the fetus in order to further the state’s asserted interest [in the life of the unborn].’ In effect, a woman ‘is constantly aware for nine months that her body is not her own: the state has conscripted her body for its own ends.’ Such ‘forced pregnancy,’ she contends, violates the Thirteenth Amendment, which prohibits slavery.”[iv]

Reason 23 – Obama Takes Credit for Comfortable Deaths

Reason #23

Obama Takes Credit for Comfortable Deaths

Nurse Jill Stanek, during her testimony before the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee in March, 2001, described a horrific scenario of aborted, but surviving babies being left in a hospital’s soiled utility closet – there to die alone and without medical assistance.  Then State Senator Barack Obama, was according to Nurse Stanek, “unfazed” by her testimony.  But, while he may have been “unfazed” by her graphic descriptions, he was apparently listening.  He proved this in 2002, when Ms. Stanek again testified before the same Committee.  Obama reportedly responded to her later testimony, noting:

“’Ms. Stanek, your initial testimony last year showed your dismay at the lack of regard for human life.” “I agreed with you last year, and we suggested that there be a Comfort Room or something of that nature be done.  The hospital acknowledged that and changes were made and you are still unimpressed.  It sounds to me like you are really not interested in how these fetuses are treated, but rather not providing absolutely any medical care or life to them.”[i]

In addition to his apparent callousness, Obama seems to be claiming personal credit for setting up the “Comfort Room” in response to Stanek’s 2001 testimony.  He apparently forgot to consider that the room was implemented four months before her first appearance before his Committee.

Reason 22 – Obama Fights for Partial Birth Abortions

145 Days Remaining!

Reason #22

Obama Fights for Partial Birth Abortions

In 1997, then Illinois State Senator Obama voted “…against a bill designed to prevent partial-birth abortions.”  These are abortions in which the baby’s skull is cracked open, permitting the use of a suction device to pull their brains out.[i] (Emphasis Added)

In 2004, Michelle Obama – in an email to her husband’s supporters – referred to a federal ban on partial-birth abortions, passed by Congress in 2003, “as a ‘ban on a legitimate medical procedure’ that ‘is clearly unconstitutional and must be overturned.’”[ii](Emphasis Added)

In his book, The Audacity of Hope, Obama suggests that activists:

“…have openly discouraged legislative allies from even pursuing those compromise measures that would have significantly reduced the incidence of the procedure popularly known as partial-birth abortion, because the image the procedure evokes in the mind of the public has helped them win converts to their position.”[iii]

More proof of Obama’s strength!  The gruesome description of having a child’s skull cracked and his or her brains sucked out seemed to have no affect on the Obama’s.  He laments the loss of political allies to support partial birth abortion, citing what he apparently believes to be the unfair disclosure of how this grim procedure is accomplished.  His wife simply wanted the procedure put back on the menu!  How could we possibly be more proud of a First Family?

Reason 21 – Commemorative Photos of Aborted Babies

146 Days Remaining!

Reason #21

Commemorative Photos of Aborted Babies

In 1999, Jill Stanek, a Registered Nurse (RN) at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois.  found an aborted, but surviving baby “left to die alone amidst bio-hazardous human waste and dirty soiled sheets in an untended utility closet. To add insult to the infant’s already egregious injury, his convulsing wriggling body was callously deposited next to a urinal.”[i] Nurse Stanek indicated that the baby was being left there by a co-worker, who had participated in the abortion surgery and who had duties to perform on another floor.  “When she told me what she was doing I couldn’t bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone.”She reportedly “cradled and rocked” the baby until he died 45 minutes later. [ii]

Stanek described this event in her 2001 testimony before the U.S. Congress and the Illinois State Senate’s Judiciary Committee.  She also described for the Committee, the so-called “Comfort Room” that Christ Hospital had installed in December, 2000 – apparently in response to her public statements:

“Meanwhile, here in Illinois, life and death go on. Four months ago, Christ Hospital unveiled its ‘Comfort Room.’ So now I can no longer say that live aborted babies are left in our Soiled Utility Room to die. We now have this prettily wallpapered room complete with a First Photo machine, baptismal gowns, a foot printer, and baby bracelets, so that we can offer keepsakes to parents of their aborted babies. There is even a nice wooden rocker in the room to rock live aborted babies to death.”[iii]

According to Ms. Stanek, then State Senator Barack Obama was “’unfazed’ by her testimony.”[iv]

Life News.com quotes an AP report, noting that in 2001, Obama gave his position on the “born alive” issue as follows:

“It would essentially bar abortions because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this was a child then this would be an anti-abortion statute.”[v]

In other words, then State Senator Obama logically deduces that if a child survives late term abortion and is still alive after being fully separated from the mother, then the child is, in fact, a living person and we are not allowed to kill living people.  His answer however, was not to stop the murders, but apparently, to simply ignore the life.

Reason 20 – Obama Entitlement: “I Deserve a Second Term”

Reason #20

Obama Entitlement: “I Deserve a Second Term”

In early 2009, Obama told an American public waiting with great expectations, for the “hope and change” he had promised – hoping that “Fundamentally Transforming the United States of America” meant returning us to a full employment society.  Obama’s post inaugural promise?

“If I don’t have this done in three years, then this is going to be a one-term proposition.”[1]

It’s three years later now and by Obama’s own words, it is not done.  Why is he running?  Here’s what he says today – without skipping a beat…an interesting choice of words:

“I deserve a second term, but we’re not done,” [2]

How fitting that the man who thinks things work better when you “spread the wealth around,” should choose the entitlement demanding words that he “deserves a second term.” Does the man who condescends to those “clinging to religion” seem just a little whiney here?

Obama: Change We Can Believe in – Just not yet

In 2008, at the Democratic National Convention, Barack Obama told throngs of enthusiastic Americans:

“Well it’s time for them [Republicans] to own their failure. It’s time for us to change America.”[i]

But, what did he mean?  After three years of continued high unemployment – with horrific numbers mitigated more by people dropping out of the employment search than by those finding jobs – after an unsuccessful $800 billion dollar stimulus package – after increased divisiveness in the country, failed immigration policies, a health care program rammed down the throats of a resistant America – after all of this and more, Obama’s response is:

“’When I said, Change we can believe in, I didn’t say, Change we can believe in tomorrow, not, Change we can believe in next week.’”[ii]

New York Times Columnist Maureen Dowd, in a surprising article, wrote: “The dissonance of his promise and his reality is jarring.” [iii]

Reason 18 – Obama: A Rank Amateur

Reason #18

Obama: A Rank Amateur

In her book, The Obama’s, author Jodi Kantor states that “…when it was time to order a swing set for the Obama girls, Rear Admiral Stephen Rochon, the chief usher, traveled to the factory in South Dakota where it was being made to inspect it.”[i]

According to media coverage at the time, the Obama’s paid for the swing set.  But, there is more than one kind of extravagance – and this is a particularly ugly and unnecessary one.  A Rear Admiral in the field would likely be in command of thousands of service members.  There are two levels of Rear Admirals, both of which are Flag Officers – a rank level attained by less than 1% of career military officers.[ii]

Sending a Rear Admiral across the country to inspect a child’s swing set – particularly, given current Defense cuts – is an insult and an embarrassment.  If the military was to have any role in this transaction, there are numerous enlisted skilled technicians in all branches who could have done a credible job.  Most probably, there was an Army base far closer to the South Dakota operation than Washington, DC.

How and why did this happen?  Who knows?  What we do know, is that President Obama seems more comfortable with high ranking titles.  The BP “Spill Commission” noted, for example that:

“During the Deepwater Horizon response…inter-agency groups [NRT and RRT] were activated but later marginalized when issues were taken out of their hands and decided by agency heads rather than through the established decision-making structure.  When the first National Response Team conference call was held, instead of the designated team members, the principals of the agencies were on the line and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano chaired the call.” [iii]

In fact, on day two of the BP spill crisis, the Deputy Secretary of Interior was dispatched to the Gulf, in order – not to guide our response, but to provide Washington officials hourly updates on our disaster response.[iv]  Does this sound like a job for the Deputy Interior Secretary?

Are these lessons in applied Elitism?  Or, are they merely the actions of a rank amateur?

Reason 16/17 – Obama Reaching Out Again/Geithner: No Solutions – “We Just Don’t Like Yours!”

150 Days Remaining!

Reason #16

Obama – Reaching out Again – knife in hand!

The President who campaigned on hope and change, has steadfastly refused the opportunity to unify the country, to show respect for our heritage and our people, or to attempt to bridge the differences between Republicans and Democrats.  Instead, he has given us 2nd rate theater.

This comment was made before the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee:

“…we don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they got to sit in back. (Laughter.)”[i]

How can we doubt the unifying power of these words.  This is indeed, change we can believe in.

 * * *

Reason #17

No Solutions – We Just “Don’t Like Yours”

As Obama talks about intractable Republicans and his determination to work around, rather than with and through Congress in a bipartisan fashion, small debates continue to play out.  Some – like this one with Republican Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Democrat Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner seem to show a combination of serious effort, theater and condescension.

In the following exchange, Rep. Ryan and Secretary Geithner seemed in agreement on some issues, seemed to somehow acknowledge the expertise and savvy of the other, but while it appeared Ryan was actually looking for answers, Geithner seemed satisfied to blame the Bush Administration, lay out what they apparently see as an insurmountable problem, with 10,000 Americans retiring each day, and in a pretty cavalier fashion, admit that they have no solutions – they just don’t like the Ryan plan.

Paul Ryan:  “…Our Government is making promises to Americans, that it has no way of accounting for them.  And so you’re saying, yeah we’re stabilizing it, but we’re not fixing it in the long run.  That means we’re just going to keep lying to people.  We’re going to keep all these empty promises going.  So what we’re saying is – in order to avert a debt crisis – I mean, you’re the Treasury Secretary, of all p…  If we can’t make good on our bonds in the future, who’s going to invest in our Country?  We do not want to have a debt crisis and so it comes down to confidence and trajectory.  Do we have confidence that we’re getting our fiscal situation under control?  That we’re preventing the debt from getting at these catastrophic levels – and if you go back to the preceding chart – Number 13 –  you’re showing that you have no plan to get this debt under control…”

Timothy Geithner:  “…You were right to say we’re not coming before you today to say we have a definitive solution to that long term problem.  What we do know is we don’t like yours.[ii]
